Position paper

We will co-create a position paper with all participants, outlining concrete milestones and measures to create the necessary framework conditions for a competitive and strong regional IT sector.

Be part of a sustainable, solutions-based Summit

The SDIA is delighted to host our Sustainable IT Summit in Düsseldorf on 14 March 2023.

The Summit will be held in German.

As one of the strongest economic regions in the world, the Rhine-Ruhr area is also home to a thriving IT sector. Where together, IT consultancies, system houses, and infrastructure companies provide the foundation for the digitization of industry and shape the digital transformation of the region through their work.

However, competition from global hyperscalers continually challenges regional players and regional sovereignty. At the same time, the ongoing sustainable debate and mitigating the environmental impact of IT, heighten the focus on regional solutions, e.g., in the sense of a “donut economy”.

For this collaborative Summit, community is key. Our invited guest speakers, presentations, and sessions will share examples of innovation and sustainability from the IT sector within the Rhine-Ruhr area. The program will include co-creating a position paper with all participants, outlining requirements and measures for a competitive and strong regional IT sector, that also protect our future.
