How to use Hydrogen As Back-Up Power For Data Centers?

As an alternative source of energy, hydrogen plays a major role in the future plans of the European Commission.

Since data centers are estimated to have the fastest growing carbon footprint across the whole ICT sector, if they rely on diesel generators, fuel cells could be a sustainable substitute. That’s why we opened the “Green Power Procurement for Data Centers” steering group which constantly gives input for new research ideas.

Within the Innovation Lab department, the SDIA now wants to elaborate further on the viability of hydrogen fuel cells as back up power for data centers, in order to replace diesel generators. To guarantee the success of this project, we are looking for partners and experts who want to join us on the journey.
